Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) – One of Harvard Medical School’s two teaching hospitals, BWH is a leader in patient care and research. As part of the Division of Infectious Disease Research Interests at BWH, the WHO Collaborating Center for Surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance develops tools and infrastructure to advance global AMR surveillance. Their software WHONET captures and standardizes data from diverse laboratory information systems into a common platform, facilitating the integrated management, analysis, and interpretation of microbiological findings. Dr. John Stelling, co-director of the WHO Collaborating Center and co-founder of WHONET, and team supported AMR data collation and interpretation and in-country capacity building activities.

Big Data Institute, University of Oxford (BDI) – Part of the Li Ka Shing Centre for Health Information and Discovery, BDI is an interdisciplinary research institute that devises methods for analysing large sets of data related to prevention, treatment, causes, and/or consequences of disease. Professor David Aanensen, the Director of the Centre for Genomic Pathogen Surveillance, and team guided the collection, interpretation, and visualisation of metadata, and development of an AMC data visualization tool utilising methods they developed for mobile data capture (https://five.epicollect.net) and epidemiological data linkage (https://microreact.org) for analyses and visualization of very large datasets.
